Who is Garlic Girl?

My name is Vanessa and I proudly own and run Garlic Girl Vintage, Washington DC’s go-to source for playful vintage home decor.

GGV specializes in colorful glassware, whimsical gallery wall fodder, hostess-with-the-mostess barware, unexpected candle holders, fruity kitchenware, trinket dishes galore, and reworked vintage plant vessels (featuring live, easy to care for plants!).

I take inspiration from turn-of-the-century lesbian photographers, midcentury illustrations, maximalist mixed media artwork, saturated floral wallpaper, color drenching, and unexpected, humorous design choices.

You can find Garlic Girl Vintage at pop ups around the DMV, at Vintage Vintage Vintage in Union Market, Relume in Eastern Market, Muz and Rose in Leesburg, VA, and Two Crows Antiques in Ranson, WV.

I’m almost always accompanied by my three-legged dog and GGV’s CFO, Sasha. I’m proud to belong to a thriving network of LGBTQ+ business owners in DC!
